Our Story

GIA Cyber works to bridge the gap between underserved communities and the rapidly evolving world of technology. Our programs focus on preparing young people with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to navigate and participate in the digital future.

Our work has already expanded beyond our original communities and now reaches youth in rural areas of Pennsylvania, where access to technology education can often be limited.

GIA Cyber is the technology and cybersecurity branch of Grace in Action, a social services organization that has been serving families for more than a decade.

​

Grace in Action was founded by Nathali Cano and her daughter with a simple mission: to support vulnerable families through direct community work, resource assistance, and local outreach. For many years the organization focused on helping families meet basic needs while building strong relationships within the community.

​

Over time, Nathali transitioned professionally into the field of cybersecurity , often working in areas such as attack emulation and detection engineering. However, even as her career moved into the technology sector, the community work did not stop.

​

The needs that existed in the community were still very real. Families continued reaching out for support, and the relationships built over many years remained strong. Community service had already become part of Nathali’s life and identity, and leaving that work behind was never an option.​ Instead, something new began to take shape.

​

It became clear that technology itself could become a powerful tool for empowerment and opportunity. Access to technology education, cybersecurity awareness, and emerging fields like artificial intelligence could open doors for young people who might otherwise never be exposed to these opportunities. From this realization, GIA Cyber was born.

GIA Cyber represents a natural extension of the mission that has always guided Grace in Action. While the parent organization focuses on meeting the immediate needs of families and communities, GIA Cyber expands that mission into the digital world by introducing youth to technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.​

Through the combined efforts of Grace in Action and GIA Cyber, our goal remains the same:
to serve communities, empower young people, and create pathways toward opportunity.
